Kenyan Riviera Boogie

The below article was published in one of the most read skydiving magazine called 90 PERCENT

Kenya Riviera Boogie, September 3 - 9. You probably won’t expect a perfect boogie organized by a woman in Kenya. Zainab Alibhai is a Kenyan born entrepreneur but worked as a AFF instructor, Senior rigger and ST&A in the US, Germany, the Emirates and South Africa.

Moving back to Kenya, she decide to open a dropzone and organize the perfect boogie there.

Located in Kilifi County, at the Kenya Riviera, about an hour from Mombasa and its international airport, she found the perfect location right at the beach that belongs to a resort. Vipingo Ridge, is a high end PGA golf resort, with marvelous views over some green landscape onto the ocean and a private airstrip. The line up of load organizers was also high end. Omar Alhegelan, multiple time Skydiving World Champion. Ralph Wilhelm, who took care of the belly flyers and also proved his reputation as a top notch camera flyer. So the participants got their share of Belly, Head-Up, Head-Down, Angle, Hybrid, pool noodles and inflatable jumps.

After very visual jumps to the beach club/drop zone, the landing of the fourth jump was on the driving range of the golf course. On the third day the participants landed at this place again, however this time three giraffes were present. No wonder, that as they wanted to enjoy the beauty of the Kenyan Riviera, the participants did not only do the 10 jumps included in the boogie package, but did 17 jumps per person in average. Due to the excellent and smooth organization up to six relaxed jump per day where no problem. As all participants agreed, the event, due to a woman’s touch in organising it, was beyond awesome.
